Thinking in bright colors

 


8x10 pastel over watercolors

I started this painting as a wet in wet watercolor. The washes suggested flowers.Since I have been wanting to paint sunflowers, I decided to work with these beautiful yellows. I have been looking at sunflowers in my yard all summer.

    This is gorgeous,love the blue which sets off the sunflower so well.

    Thanks Diana, I love to paint with blue. The sunflowers are abundant here in WNC. The flowers lend a cheerful aspect to the landscape.
