fAVORITE COLORS
3X4 Collage
I had these pieces of watercolors and thought it may be nice to collage them. Pink and lavender are favorite colors. I finished it with ink.
Gache among the flowers
16x20 watercolors
This is a painting of my sister among the summeer flowers. I masked the white flowers and painted the background. I wanted to capture the many Queen Anne's lace that grow wild. I wanted to also capture the feeling of awe she had.

In My Garden

At last I was able to paint a picture of a garden after having the image in my mind for some time.Painting gardens and flowers are my favorite subjects.
Benji
12x7 watercolor pencils
This is my dog Benji. He brings us much joy and we provided a home for him. Someone had let him go in this neighborhood. I don't paint too much with watercolor pencils, but thought they may work well for this painting.

Pink Spring
11x15 watercolor
A flower from my yard. This was really inspired by a tulip, but I turned it into an imaginative flower.
Summer Meadow
15x11 pastel over watercolor
This painting was on my bin and I took it out this morning and finished it into a mostly pastel painting. My yard is so beautiful this time of year, summer, that the beautiful and profuse wildflowers inspire me to paint this picture.

Blue Dream
Barn in the Spring-Morning
9x12 Watercolor on paper
This is a barn that I pass nearly everyday and I look at it. Its shape fascinates me as does the way the light hits it at different times of day. Barns are old relics in this part of NC and some I have painted are already torn down. The need to preserve these barns at least in paintings is paramount.
June Bride
10x13 watercolor on paper
This beautiful flower in my yard inspired this painting. Thoughts of a friend's wedding came to mind. I am happy with the way the painting turned out as I think it evokes feelings of delicacy and softness as in a bride's dress.
